Premiere: Palmer Eldritch - Superheated Phase

Palmer Eldritch is a duo of Portuguese experimental electronic composers, named for the main character in Philip K. Dick's masterpiece The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch. Their music is intensely abstract and their latest effort, Glaser - part of a three EP series they're doing this year with Portuguese label PAD - is no different and expands ably on its predecessor, Five Easy Pieces. As PAD emphasizes, the duo experiments with a suite of sounds and effects more typical of dance music. At times it demands a lot of attention, but as the experiment unfolds and larger narratives take shape, the pay off comes with the awareness of their incredible restraint and intensely unconventional composition.
