Sufi Sounds from Homeless Mind Theory

If you were on facebook last night (Friday the 8th) you might have seen us linking enthusiastically to Homeless Mind Theory's latest mixtape, a fifteen track excursion into Sufi influenced music, curated by Neusha MacDonald, a Manchester based expert in Arab musicology. If the appeal of the unknown wasn't sufficient, my degree in Religious Studies and love of the Sufi poets, Hafiz, etc, made this an immediate and unexpected joy. I should emphasize the word "influenced" - the contents will probably rove pretty far from your expectations at times, as with the very not-Arab sounding first track from Armenian mystic George Gurdjieff. Download this bad boy and read up on the contents here. (via Homeless Mind Theory)
