For the past couple of years the duo of Mitch Myers and Kenzie Cooke, bka Hear Hums, have been one of my favorite experimental groups out there; so much so that they were one of the first bands we worked with when we launched Crash Symbols. The duo released their third album, Opens, earlier this year. While touring the album and working on new material, Mitch also started working on some more lyrically focused solo tracks under the moniker Peace Arrow. Our first peak is a song called "Gems", which Mitch says musically definitely has a similarity to Hear Hums recent output, though this reflects Hear Hums moving on to something new. Lyrically it discusses him shedding the frivolous novelties of life in order to pursue a more honest happiness. He's already finished a few tracks that will be on his debut album, loosely scheduled for release sometime next year.
