Mopedbart

It's been a year or more since I've trained the ol' peepers on Australia's premiere disco collective, Disco Delicious, and their international crew of wizards. Included in that group is one of our perennial favorites, Norwegian-by-way-of-Copenhagen producer Joystick Jay, whose debut vinyl on DD blew my mind way back in 2011. The 12" included an incredible Fela Kuti edit, which we've got streaming at the bottom of this post and that I actually premiered on Altered Zones back in the day (waxing nostalgic today). In near orbit of Disco Delicious is Death Strobe Records, proprietor Andy Webb's collaborative imprint with fellow DJ Ash Moses. They've done some incredible stuff with Sydney-based Domeyko/Gonzalez, a self-titled EP and more recently an ambient discursion called No Way Back. Undeniably what brought my "peepers" back to attention though was the word "HubbaBubbaKlubb" on the Disco Delicious Facebook page, but that Joystick Jay is a member of the new Norwegian five-piece was more than enough reason to spend some time with the accompanying SoundCloud link. Even better, they've got the group's entire debut 7" streaming, two cuts of exceedingly genial deep house.

Stream: HubbaBubbaKlubb - Mopedbart/Lille Søte Svanse 7"

Stream: Fela Kuti - "No Possible" (Joystick Jay's Vulgar Distractions Edit)
Grab the 7" from Juno.
